Everybody does it! So we thought it would be good to share some insights from 2013 with you, as well as some of our ambitions for 2014. Here is what it’s all about…

Back on January, Codestag started to take the shape and form it has today: A premium WordPress theme shop. Ram and I met online, and instantly started to work together on our first theme: Proxy. We knew we did a great job, but we could not foresee the tremendous success that was about to follow.

In one single year we managed to release 8 themes, that all shared an equal amount of success and positive feedback. We were thrilled to see that not only we were building products we really liked, but also that they were embraced and appreciated by our customers. This has been the driving force behind our everyday collaboration, and it is what has set the tone for our ambitions for 2014.

In less than 7 months we reached the Elite Author Level, and got a shiny elite badge over at ThemeForest.

In terms of business we are quite happy with it too: In one year we managed to achieve a revenue of little less than $100,000 solely from Themeforest sales.

Plugins Released

In 2013, we released two new plugins: StagTools and Stag Custom Sidebars. Both of them were released on WordPress.org and / or GitHub as free downloads. Where StagTools received big number of downloads, Stag Custom Sidebar also got a good response. Thanks to all of you for all your support so far. We’re looking ahead to release more new (free) plugins this year.

What should you expect in 2014

You should not expect nothing else but true awesomeness this year. We are committed and enjoying it. Imagine that on the first day of 2014, we just released our first WooCommerce theme, Crux. Not only we are planning to keep releasing cutting-edge themes, but we also intend to focus on some marketing and promotion aspects.

Last but not the least, we are building our own support desk plugin, Halt and we will use it as the foundation of our upcoming support desk / knowledge base system for our own customers.
