Forest has a custom slider widget that allows you to output a slideshow. In order to create the slides, navigate to the Slides tab on the admin side and create a new slide.
You can enter a message that you want to be displayed with the slide, pick an image and have a button with customized text. In order to make the slider to appear at the homepage you just need to put the Section: slider widget at the Homepage Sections widget area.
